Hi! My name is Doddie and I am writing this success story because of the great care I received at BECK WELLNESS SENTER. The care was by far the most helpful and the most successful care I have had from a chiropractor I the past ten years.

After going to my chiropractor on and off for ten years, when I had pain, the treatment I received would make me feel better, Then on New Years Eve I slipped and caught myself but while preventing myself from falling I really messed up my back, the pain was the worst pain I have felt in my list. I could not do anything for myself. It even seemed as if breathing was intolerable. The chiropractor I was going to did not understand why I had gotten worse and did not offer me a solution, treatment, or advice that helped. He said my problem was a muscle problem and not a disc problem. After a visit to my medical doctor an MRI was ordered and a herniated disc at L-5 was discovered. My MD’s advice was to buck up and go to see a pain management specialist. What was that? Was he telling me I had to live with this excruciating pain and suffer? I was scared my future was at stake. After being sick for two months early in the year my job as a nail tech was not looking good. My clients need me. This is where Dr. Beck comes in, one of my clients and a dear friend told me to go and see him that he would do his best to make me feel better. Dr. Beck was kind, understanding and most of all knowledgeable. He explained what was going on in my back and what caused a disc to rupture. He went over the options of treatment. He knew what I was going through mentally and physically. His works were comforting and reassuring and I felt he really cared about making me feel better as quick as possible. He laid out a program of decompression and active therapeutic movement and by the third treatment I was 40% out pain and on my way to 100% pain free. Now two weeks later I am 90% pain free and back to work. There is no doubt about it, without Dr. Beck’s help I would still be suffering. I tell him he is my savior just to tease him, but he saved me from a lot of suffering and has me back to work just what I needed just when I needed it the most.

It was January 22nd 2007 that I met Dr. Mark Beck and his staff for the first time. I had been away from St. Louis for sometime, however I had been treated by a Chiropractor for about ten years. I "discovered” Dr. Beck from a friend's recommendation. From the start at my fist visit I was treated in a professional way. I was given a complete examination, along with much information before my first treatment. I previously had serious back surgery “Spinal Stenosis”, however I really had not completely recovered my back strength. I had gone too different “pain doctors” including steroid pain shots. The pain was eased for a time, but I never had lasting relief. Thus I went to Dr. Beck at first for three times a week and now twice a week. My treatments include not only Dr. Beck’s manipulations with his strong hands, but also several “vibrating machines” to stimulate my muscles and nerves. I feel I have made satisfactory progress and hope this will continue. I am able to walk for long periods of time and stand more. I still have some back pain at times more less usually today or after a treatment. I feel Dr. Beck’s staff is very caring, they are always there to help and seeing to it that everyone is all right. I feel Dr. Beck is also very professional and keeps “updated” as he attends numerous workshops for his profession. I started treatment and Beck Wellness Center on October 31st 2007. I came into the office with lower back pain, left leg pain, neck stiffness and belly fat. I have only been coming to the office 3 weeks and I have noticed so much improvement. My lower back pain is a lot better and I have no pain in my left leg. This was causing me not to be able to stand for long periods of time and now I have no problems with standing. I now can move my neck from left to right with no restrictions.

I have also started to get rid of my belly fat. My clothes have gone from a size 40 to 38. In only 3 weeks I have lost 11 pounds.

I now have more energy throughout the day, and I can sleep through the night instead of waking up every 2 hours. My wife has also noticed I am not snoring anymore, and you can bet she is happy about that.

One other thing I have been suffering with is multiple sclerosis. When putting on button down shirt it would have to be buttoned first and then I would put it on like a T-shirt. I also could not feel the pages in a book on my fingertips. I am excited to say I can now button my own shirts and I can feel the pages when reading a book.
